Andrews Queen Anne Bicentennial Low Boy #176-34 SOLD

Status: Sold
Description:
This wonderfully hand-crafted lowboy was made by the well-known artist Joe Andrews in 1976. It is beautifully made with superb finish and fancy brass drop handles with 3 removable drawers. One drawer is signed underneath J.A '76 and the center drawer has the label showing that this Andrews Miniatures lowboy received the Bicentennial Seal of Approval given by the U.S. Bicentennial Society Board of Trustees in 1976, a special honor for Mr. Andrews' high quality work. Only a limited number of his furniture received this unique Seal of Approval and only a limited number of these highboys were made. Very high quality with a lovely finish, hand made and hand rubbed solid mahogany with a lovely cut skirt front and sides with beautifully carved cabriole legs. This is a very rare item. Great condition. What a special treat that this lowboy still retains its original label, plus is signed. It is pictured in the book, "The Andrews Collection: Personal Treasures" by Anne Day Smith. One inch scale. 2 5/8" high, 2 7/8" wide.
